Join National Geographic photographer Ami Vitale for an enlightening lecture about creating compelling visual stories that make a difference. You will develop a keen sense of what goes into creating a story and sustaining a long term project as well as finding a niche in today's changing world of photojournalism. She will share stories from her own worldwide travels—revealing how she connects to people and diverse cultures in order to capture the unique essence of place.

Vitale's journey as a photographer and filmmaker has taken her to more than 85 countries where she has witnessed civil unrest and violence, but also surreal beauty and the enduring power of the human spirit. Her photographs have been commissioned by nearly every important international publication and have been exhibited around the world in museums and galleries. She is a Nikon Ambassador, has judged the most prestigious photo contests and is a contract photographer with National Geographic Magazine.
